As part of the extension of the RER E (EOLE), an installation was carried out in Nanterre to create a soft bond (pedestrian/bicycle path) under the railway infrastructures, with a green access ramp.
Background & purpose
Create a ramp adjacent to the railway embankment to ensure smooth traffic continuous and comfortable.
Integrate the work into its environment thanks to a green wall.
Technical challenges
Interface constraints with a major railway structure (SNCF)
Rainwater management: an infiltration solution was studied, then adapted according to the stability constraints of the embankment (establishment of a management/discharge device depending on the project)
Coordination of the site with the adjacent structures, in particular the installation of Metallic bridge Above the massif
Solutions implemented
Realization of a reinforced ground embankment whose wall is a ATALUS® type green wall, made of draining materials and placed on the ground in place (depending on the geotechnical configuration)
The Metallic bridge Has been pushed/put in place above ATALUS reinforced frame
Result
An access ramp functional, stable and integrated into the landscape, at the service of a smooth connection in dense urban areas, demonstrating the interest of green support for a railway infrastructure project.
